What can you receive?

Loans

Bereaved parents whose son or daughter is getting married can receive a loan of 19,297 ₪.

Loan guarantee 

A bereaved parent who turns 75 during the loan period will be required to provide guarantors per the bank's request.

The guarantors can sign the guarantee at any branch of the bank, not just the branch chosen for the loan. 

Widows and widowers

What can you receive?

Grants

Grant for the marriage of an orphan 

Widows and widowers are entitled to a one-time grant of 10,712 ₪ for each of their children who became an orphan before the age of 21.

The application for the grant must be submitted after and near the date of the event, including a marriage certificate. 

Loans

Widows and widowers whose son or daughter (child of the fallen only) is getting married can receive a loan if needed, in the amount of 10,868 ₪, upon presenting a rabbinical registration certificate or marriage certificate. 

Loan guarantee 

A widow who turns 75 during the loan period will be required to provide guarantors per the bank's request. 

The guarantors can sign the guarantee at any branch of the bank, not just the branch chosen for the loan. 

Note: Widows and widowers residing abroad will not be eligible for a loan.

What can you receive?

Grants

Marriage grant 

Children of the fallen under the age of 30 who get married and have not received a housing grant are entitled to a one-time marriage grant of 174,082 ₪

Grant at the age of 30

Children of the fallen who turn 30 and have not yet married or purchased an apartment are entitled to a one-time grant equal to the marriage grant,174,082 ₪

If they previously received a housing grant, they can receive a supplement equal to the difference (20%) between the two grants when they turn 30.

Loans

Orphans under the age of 30 can receive a loan of up to 36,418 ₪ for marriage purposes upon presenting a rabbinical registration certificate or purchase contract.  

Loan guarantee 

Guarantors must be presented to the bank, and commit to repay the loan in case you are unable to do so.

The guarantors can sign the guarantee at any branch of the bank, not just the branch chosen for the loan.

For your attention

Eligibility for loans applies to those who became orphaned before the age of 21. 

Eligibility for grants applies to those who became orphaned between the ages of 21 and 30 as well. 

Orphans experiencing a second loss

Orphans whose both parents fell in service: are entitled to a marriage grant of 200%.

  •  A letter of application.
  • A marriage certificate or a registry extract from the Population Registry or an agreement of cohabitation of the son or daughter who is getting married.

What happens after you apply?

  • We will respond within 25 business days from the receipt of all required documents. If there is any delay, we will inform you. 
  • Once eligibility is approved, the grant will be included in the benefits slip, and the loan will be processed through the International Bank. 

Stages of the loan approval process

  1. In the first stage, the application and documents must be submitted through your account. 

  2. The application will be reviewed by a welfare worker, who will respond within 26 business days regarding the loan eligibility.

  3. Transfer of your details to the bank - After receiving the details, the bank will notify you that the loan can be processed at any branch of the First International Bank of your choice. 

  4. The approved loan referral will be valid for 4 months only, and the loan must be processed at the bank before it expires.

  5. Loan processing - The bank will notify you via SMS about the transfer of the loan amount to your account. From this stage, the loan repayment amount will be deducted monthly from your benefits slip.

Loan guarantee

  • In some cases, it is necessary to provide the bank with guarantors, who will commit to repay the loan in case you are unable to do so.  
  • The guarantors can sign the guarantee at any branch of the bank, not just the branch chosen for the loan.

Loan modification or cancellation

If it is necessary to cancel an approved loan, or reduce or extend the repayment term, please inform the welfare worker.
