About the unit

The Recognition and Eligibility Unit is the sole body authorized to review recognition applications according to the Fallen Soldiers' Families (Pensions and Rehabilitation) Law, 1950.

The unit operates professionally and with sensitivity, with deep dedication to the families going through the recognition process. It is committed to provide accessible services and information with full transparency.

Our responsibilities

  • Guiding the department's representatives in all districts prior to the first visit to the family's home and the integration process into the department.

  • Conducting a thorough review of the circumstances of the event with the security forces, to obtain all the necessary information before making a decision.

  • Collecting different documents and complementary information such as medical records, information from the National Insurance Institute, and more, to verify the details of the event and make a decision.

  • Handling thoroughly the recognition applications, monitoring the process, and notifying the families of the progress.

  • Operating a network of medical consultants and obtaining professional opinions.

  • Handling appeals submitted by families in courts across the country.
