Traffic and Parking at Military Cemeteries
Opening of ceremonies at military cemeteries at 11:00
The Department of Families, Commemoration and Heritage operates shuttle services to military cemeteries to facilitate the arrival of bereaved families to official ceremonies.
The service includes organized parking in large lots and shuttle services from parking lots and train stations to military cemeteries and back, as detailed below:
Jerusalem area
Military cemetery on Mount Herzl - Entry to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl will be permitted for pedestrians only. Free buses will be available for visitors to the cemetery. Free parking lots will open for ceremony attendees starting at 07:00 at the following locations: Binyanei Hauma (Jerusalem International Convention Center), parking lots on Shmuel Bait Street, Hadassah Ein Kerem parking lot / building of hospitalization, the parking lot adjacent to Teddy Stadium (East), HaLe'om Parking Lot (in front of the Supreme Court), and the bus parking lot. These will operate free of charge from 07:00 to 15:00. The Jerusalem Light Rail "Kfir" will provide free transportation for attendees to and from the ceremony (no tickets required).
Military cemetery on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem - Armored buses will operate starting at 08:00. Free shuttle service to Mount of Olives will be provided from the Yad Labanim parking lot near Beit HaHayal starting at 08:30. From HaRaches parking lot (lower section), shuttle service will be available for those arriving in private vehicles. Private vehicles will join the convoy heading to Mount of Olives around 08:30. After the ceremony, return shuttles will operate to the Yad Labanim parking lot. For those with limited mobility and disabilities, shuttle service to the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim will operate starting at 08:30 from the parking lot near the entrance to the kibbutz, HaKurkar parking lot, and HaMusach parking lot, with return service after the ceremony.
Central area
Military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul - Arrangements for Memorial Day ceremonies at the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery include free parking for attendees at alternative lots, with shuttle services to the cemetery for the ceremony commemorating Israel's fallen. Parking is available at the following locations: Cinema City Glilot (external lot) – marked in blue, Exhibition Grounds (Expo Tel Aviv and Shlomo Group Arena) – marked in green, and Tel Aviv University Train Station – marked in yellow. Shuttles will operate in rounds from 07:00 to 10:30 towards the cemetery and from 11:30 to 15:30 back to the parking lots. Ceremony attendees are requested to arrive early. Starting at 05:00, entry from Moshe Sneh Street from Tel Aviv (South) will be closed to traffic. Additionally, Kiryat Shaul Street (towards the civilian cemetery) will be closed until 10:00. Entry via Moshe Sneh at the main entrance will be permitted for vehicles with disability permits and special authorization. Public transportation will be enhanced from Tel Aviv Central Station to the military cemetery and back after the ceremony.
Military cemetery in Bat Yam-Holon - Shuttle services will operate in rounds from parking lots to the military cemetery. Additionally, shuttles will run back and forth until 16:00. Shuttles will depart from Raziel Street, behind Bat Yam Mall, and Paz gas station to the cemetery from 09:00 to 13:00. Buses will also depart from the Mediatheque rear plaza to the cemetery and back starting at 09:00.
Military cemetery in Ra'anana - Shuttles will depart from Yerushalayim Street at the corner of Lev HaPark, near Beit Mishan, to the military cemetery at 09:00 and return after the ceremony.
Military section in Rosh HaAyin - Shuttles will depart from the parking lot at Lev HaIr Park, Begin School in Rosh HaAyin, at 10:15 and return after the ceremony.
Military section in Yavne - Shuttles will depart from East Train Station to Yavne Military Cemetery and from West Train Station to Alon Street (near Alon School), then to Duani Street 3 and the cemetery at 08:00, with return service after the ceremony.
Military cemetery in Hadera - Shuttles will depart from the Eco Park parking lot on Mishmar HaGvul Street in Hadera to the cemetery at 08:30 and return after the ceremony.
Military cemetery in Netanya - Attendees are advised to arrive early to avoid rush hour at the entrances (until 13:00). Free shuttles: Departing from 07:00 from Netanya Train Station (Central) and Netanya Stadium, returning after the ceremony. Road closures (starting at 07:30): Rambam Street (from Sokolov to Kalir), Radak Street (entire street), and Ovadia Ben Shalom Street (from HaAri Junction to Itamar Ben Avi). Accessibility and disabled parking: Disabled parking via Kalir Street (entry until 09:00 only, subject to availability). Please follow the instructions of security forces and ushers.
Military cemetery in Nachlat Yitzhak - Attendees are strongly advised to arrive early to avoid rush hour and delays at the entrances. Road closures (starting at 07:30): Avnei Zikaron Street will be closed to traffic in both directions, and Arvei Nachal Street will be closed to northbound traffic. Parking: Public parking is available at HaMivneh parking lot on Nachlat Yitzhak Street. Accessibility and disabled parking (drop-off points): corner of Avnei Zikaron Street & Israel Taiber Street, corner of Arvei Nachal Street & Derech. Please follow the instructions of security forces and ushers on-site.
Haifa and northern area
Military cemetery in Haifa - Free shuttle buses will operate in rounds to the cemetery and back after the ceremony. Parking is available free of charge at the following locations: Haifa International Convention Center parking lot, Sammy Ofer Stadium parking lot, and Hof HaCarmel Train Station. Additionally, the Metronit will enhance its activity from Hof HaCarmel to Neve David and back. Metronit rides require payment. Shekem parking lot - adjacent to the military cemetery. Parking at this lot will be available starting at 07:00 for vehicles with parking permits only. Access via Highway 2 North under the pedestrian bridge. Towed vehicle parking lot (Rotem parking lot) - located near Etzel Junction and HaMelech David. Managed by the police. Closed from 07:00 to 13:00. Traffic arrangements and road closures - Megureshei Sfarad Street, from the tunnel entrance heading north.
Military section in Kiryat Ata - Shuttle services to the military cemetery and the section will operate free of charge for Memorial Day ceremonies. Shuttles will depart from the entrance to the road leading to the military cemetery in Safed. Parking will be available at the Saraya parking lot for ceremony attendees. Shuttles will wait for attendees near the "Yad Labanim" branch (near Beit Yigal Alon) and will operate in rounds free of charge to the cemetery and back after the ceremony. Military cemetery in Afula - Free shuttle services will operate from Keren Hayesod Street to the military cemetery and back.
Military cemetery in Tiberias - Free shuttle services will operate from the parking lot at Gai Beach Hotel to the military cemetery and back.
General notes for all ceremony attendees at military cemeteries: Attendees are requested to arrive early at the cemetery. Weapons will not be permitted at ceremonies in military cemeteries. Ceremony attendees are asked to avoid arriving in private vehicles. Please use shuttles and public transportation (including Israel Railways).
