Preserving the Memory of Your Loved Ones – for Future Generations

Dear Families,

The memory of your loved ones is an inseparable part of the story of the people of Israel and the State of Israel.

The National Library, located in the Government Complex in Jerusalem and entrusted with preserving the treasures of the Jewish people and the State of Israel, seeks to ensure that the stories and memories of the fallen are preserved and accessible for future generations.

Within this framework, the library works to collect books and memorial booklets produced over the years in memory of the fallen defense and security forces of Israel. Some publications are already part of the library's collection, but many books and booklets have yet to reach it.

If you have a book or memorial booklet produced in memory of your loved one, and you know it is not yet part of the National Library's collections, we would appreciate it if you choose to deposit it in the library.

You can check if the book is already available in the library by browsing the National Library catalog on the library's website.

• Physical copy – Can be sent by mail to the address: The National Library, Intake Team, P.O. Box 39105, Jerusalem 9139002.

  You can also bring the book or booklet to the National Library, located at 1 Kaplan Street, Jerusalem, opposite the Knesset, Sunday–Thursday between 09:00–17:30 (desk on floor -1).

• Digital copy – Can be deposited using the form on the library's website: nli.org.il/deposit

You can submit a physical or digital copy, and if possible, it is recommended to submit both.

The books and booklets received will be added to the permanent collection of the National Library and held in protected conditions for eternal safekeeping for future generations.

In October this year, marking three years since the war that broke out on October 7, 2023, the National Library plans to display books and memorial booklets in its reading halls in memory of the fallen and murdered from October 7, 2023, to the present day. Publications produced in digital format may also be displayed on the library's website.

This allows library visitors and website users to discover stories, characters and memories.
