Benefits for Bereaved Parents
Benefit components
The benefits are monthly, annual, and one-time payments provided to the families of fallen IDF soldiers and security forces. Their purpose is to ease, even slightly, the daily challenges as families cope with grief and loss.
The monthly benefits slip includes various fixed and variable components depending on each family and its characteristics.

Health insurance
According to the Families of Fallen Soldiers' Families Law, the department participates in the payment of national health insurance.
The amount of participation is determined after checking the existence of an income source - whether the parent has or does not have an income source or payment from which health insurance fees are deducted, such as: salary, pension, and National Insurance Institute allowance.
Health insurance participation amounts:
Single parent or couple with a health insurance deduction source – 182 ₪ - appears on the benefits slip as a benefit.
Single parent with an old-age pension – 118.5 ₪ - appears on the benefits slip as a benefit.
Couple with an old-age pension - 170 ₪ - appears on the benefits slip as a benefit.
Single parent or couple without a health insurance deduction source (not receiving a National Insurance Institute allowance) – 123 ₪, of which 61.5 ₪ will be deducted from the monthly benefit and an additional 61.5 ₪ will be paid by the department directly to the National Insurance Institute - appears on the benefits slip as a deduction.
