What assistance options are currently available?
Bauman Foundation
The Nicola Bauman Foundation is jointly managed by the Jewish National Fund and the Administrator General. In 2026, the foundation provides scholarships and benefits to bereaved siblings and orphans.
The assistance is provided in accordance with the benefit conditions and the budget available to the foundation.
Scholarships for students
Bereaved siblings under the age of 40 can apply for a scholarship if they are studying in the academic year 2026-2027 for a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or certificate at an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education or a post-secondary institution.
You can submit an application even if you have received a scholarship from the Bauman Foundation previously, as long as no more than two scholarships have been granted.
The scholarship amount is up to 7,210 ₪, and no more than 60% of the actual tuition paid - whichever is lower.
To check eligibility, the determining age is the age as of January 1, 2026.
What should you attach to the application?
Photocopy of both sides of the ID card, including the appendix.
Signed consent, declaration and commitment form.
Study confirmation.
Confirmation from the educational institution regarding the tuition amount.
Receipt or confirmation from the educational institution for the actual tuition payment.
Bank account confirmation letter or voided check.
Assistance for vocational training
Bereaved siblings and orphans aged 30-55 participating in vocational training during 2026 can submit an application for assistance.
The assistance is intended for retraining or developing an additional career alongside existing work and does not include academic degree studies.
The assistance amount is up to 4,000 ₪ and no more than the actual amount paid.
The assistance is intended for those who have not previously received funding from the Bauman Foundation for vocational training, except in cases where the training lasts more than 12 months.
To check eligibility, the determining age is the age as of January 1, 2026.
What should you attach to the application?
Photocopy of the ID card from both sides, including the appendix.
Study confirmation.
The curriculum on an official document of the educational institution.
Receipt for tuition payment.
Bank account confirmation letter or voided check.
Signed consent, declaration and commitment form.
Assistance with diagnosing learning disabilities for academic studies
Bereaved siblings under the age of 30 who are required to undergo a learning disability assessment during 2026 can submit an application for assistance, provided the assessment is conducted at one of the centers affiliated with the MATAL system.
The assistance amount is up to 1,573 ₪.
To check eligibility, the determining age is the age on the day of assessment.
What should you attach to the application?
Photocopy of both sides of the ID card, including the appendix.
Confirmation of studying at an academic institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education.
Receipt for payment for the assessment.
Bank account confirmation letter or voided check.
Participation in extracurricular activities and courses
Bereaved siblings aged 7-18 who participate in an extracurricular activity or a course during 2026 can submit an application for participation in the expenses.
The assistance amount is up to 3,000 ₪ and no more than the actual amount paid for the extracurricular activity or course.
To check eligibility, the determining age is the age as of January 1, 2026.
What should you attach to the application?
Photocopy of the ID card of the bank account holder (both sides), including the appendix.
Receipt for payment, including the name of the extracurricular activity or course, the activity date, and the name of the participant.
Bank account confirmation letter or voided check.
Assistance with diagnosing learning disabilities for school activities
Bereaved siblings up to 12th grade who are required to undergo a learning disability assessment during 2026 can submit an application for assistance.
You can submit an application if the assessment is made following a recommendation from a psychiatrist, psychologist, pedagogical committee, social worker or school counselor.
The assessment must be conducted by an institute or evaluator recognized by the Ministry of Education, no later than 3 months after receiving the recommendation.
The amount of assistance is determined by the type of assessment.
Didactic assessment: Up to 1,666 ₪.
Psychodidactic assessment: Up to 2,869 ₪.
Assessment of learning disabilities related to attention and concentration difficulties: up to 1,573 ₪.
What should you attach to the application?
Photocopy of the ID card of the bank account holder (both sides), including the appendix.
A professional recommendation for conducting the assessment.
Confirmation that the institute or evaluator is recognized by the Ministry of Education.
Receipt for payment for the assessment.
Bank account confirmation letter or voided check from the parent submitting the application.
Participation in obtaining a driver's license
Bereaved siblings under the age of 30 who obtained a driver's license during 2026 can apply for a one-time benefit of 2,500 ₪.
To check eligibility, the determining age is the age on the day the driver's license was issued.
What should you attach to the application?
Photocopy of the driver's license (both sides).
Photocopy of the ID card of the bank account holder (both sides), including the appendix.
Bank account confirmation letter or voided check.
How to apply?
The application is submitted directly to the Bauman Foundation via an online form.
On the Bauman Foundation page, you can select the appropriate scholarship or benefit and proceed to the submission form.
To ensure your application can be reviewed, it is important to complete all the details in the form and attach all the documents listed within.
Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2026.

What happens after you apply?
The trustees of the Bauman Foundation review the applications and decide whether to approve the assistance, in accordance with the benefit conditions and the budget available to the foundation. Submitting an application does not guarantee assistance.
