What is free legal aid?
In 2017, the government approved the provision of free legal aid to bereaved families through the Legal Aid Division of the Ministry of Justice. This assistance replaces the support previously provided by Na'amat.
In which cases can I receive legal aid?
Inheritance order and order of execution of the will of the fallen
Bereaved families submitting applications regarding an inheritance order - issuance, amendment, or cancellation of an order - are entitled to fee exemption.- The fee exemption is granted through the district court, and you can receive legal aid in submitting the application to the court.
- The Department of Families, Commemoration and Heritage is responsible for issuing recognition as a bereaved family within 7 working days from the date of the application. The recognition certificate must be presented to the district court.
Preparing wills for bereaved parents and widows

A document allowing a widow to choose who will serve as a guardian for minor orphans in case she becomes unable to function.Appointment of a guardian for minor siblings

Implementation of the retirement age extension regulation, and assistance with matters relating to employee-employer relations, such as: employment conditions, threat to dismiss, consultation before a hearing, tenure, and so on.Representation in criminal or civil proceedings
For family members of soldiers who were killed due to acts of homicide, murder, hostile terrorist activity etc.
Minor siblings (under the age of 18) who have lost both parents and have no independent siblings are also entitled to legal aid.
How to apply?
Aid is provided through the district offices of the Legal Aid Division of the Ministry of Justice. The division operates nationwide and the details of its district offices are listed below.
You can visit one of the legal aid district offices, where you will be asked to present a certificate indicating recognition as a bereaved family.
