What can you receive?
If you have a medical certificate indicating the need for a mobility scooter, you can receive funding or reimbursement for acquiring one.
The reimbursement is provided once every 4 years as an alternative to assistance for vehicle purchase. This means that if you receive funding or reimbursement for a mobility scooter, you will not be eligible for vehicle purchase assistance for the next 4 years.
- Single mobility scooter for a parent: up to 13,494 ₪Last updated on 1.1.2026.
- Double mobility scooter for two parents: up to 19,189 ₪Last updated on 1.1.2026.
- Single mobility scooter for a widow: up to 17,988 ₪Last updated on 1.1.2026.

Please note
- Two parents, where each needs a mobility scooter, are eligible for assistance for either a single mobility scooter or one double mobility scooter.
- A parent residing in a nursing facility, where the stay in the facility is funded by the department, is not eligible for this assistance. Their spouse, who is not in a nursing facility, will be eligible.
How to apply?
To receive funding for a purchase through one of the companies contracted with the department:
- Contact a welfare worker and request a referral to the supplier.
- The welfare worker will update you on the progress and assist you in acquiring the mobility scooter.
To receive reimbursement for a mobility scooter you acquired, please submit through your account:
- Personal application letter
The letter should include personal details, information about the application, and contact details. - Medical certificate
Indicating the need for a mobility scooter (only for the first application). - Receipt or tax invoice
Attach the original receipt or tax invoice in your name, or a certified copy, in cases where the original receipt was submitted to supplementary insurance.
If necessary, we will contact you to request additional documents to review the application.
What happens after you submit the application?
We will respond within 14 business days from the receipt of all required documents. If there is any delay, we will make sure to inform you.
After eligibility is approved, the reimbursement will be transferred via the monthly benefits slip.
What can you receive?
Participation in the purchase or lease of a wheelchair, up to the amount of 4,288 ₪Last updated on 1.1.2026. Assistance can be received once every 5 years.
The assistance is provided as a supplement to funding from the Ministry of Health, the HMO, and supplementary insurance.
The assistance will be granted up to the maximum amount stipulated by law and will not exceed the cost of the instrument.
