Bereaved parents are entitled to reimbursement for various complementary treatments
What is complementary medicine reimbursement?
Complementary medicine is a holistic approach to body and mind treatments that are not a part of conventional medicine. These treatments can support recovery and rehabilitation processes.
You are entitled to reimbursement for a variety of complementary treatments recognized by HMOs, including: acupuncture, biofeedback, homeopathy, Bach flower remedies, reflexology, Shiatsu, and more.
What can you receive?
Reimbursement for 20 complementary treatments per calendar year, and no more than 3 treatments per day.
The reimbursement amount is up to 3,320 ₪Last updated on 1.1.2026 per year and up to 166 ₪Last updated on 1.1.2026 per individual treatment.
Parents who have lost more than one child can choose one of two options:
- Receive double reimbursement (200% reimbursement) for 20 treatments per year.
- Double the number of treatments (100% reimbursement) - up to 40 treatments instead of 20 treatments per year.
How to apply?
To receive reimbursement, submit an application through your account:
Receipt or tax invoice
Please attach an original receipt or tax invoice in your name, or a certified copy in case the original receipt was submitted to the supplementary insurance provider.The name and certification of the therapist
If the receipt does not state the name and professional certification of the therapist, a copy of the therapist's certification must be attached.Treatment card
In case of a series of treatments, please attach a card that states the dates on which treatments were performed.
If necessary, we will contact you and request additional documents.
What happens after you apply?
- We will respond within 14 business days from the receipt of all documents. If there is any delay, we will make sure to inform you.
- After eligibility is approved, the reimbursement will be transferred via the monthly benefit slip.
