About the volunteers of the Department.

As part of the social services provided to families, the department operates a volunteer program aimed at providing consistent and supportive connections with a meaningful and unique human value.

The volunteer program was established at the end of the Yom Kippur War and has become institutionalized over the years. Over time, knowledge and experience have been accumulated, and its contribution and significance to bereaved families has been substantial.

The volunteers work in collaboration with the department's staff and provide additional support alongside the existing care and guidance. Each volunteers for a year and receives professional training.

Connection between the volunteers and the families is made when professionals recommend it and the family wishes to establish it.
